As well as the bike paths along Union Jack Creek and in to Ballarat along the Midland highway and Canadian Creek, Buninyong has some excellent cycling circuits that are used annually for national championships.

Buninyong Golf Club was established in 1926 at the foot of Mount Buninyong and offers a picturesque and challenging 18 hole course with amply watered fairways and greens ... acclaimed as the best in the Ballarat region ... and practice facilities.
The course has hosted many champion golfers and international stars, the calibre of Seve Ballesteros, Johnny Miller and Greg Norman who still holds the course record of 66 shot in 1978. Clubhouse facilities include a Golf shop and Bar, serving golfers' refreshments and light snacks.
Visitors are welcome to play on Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and outside of Club competition hours on Saturday and Tuesday; phone 03 5341 8051 to check availability.
